Studio Practice

Performance Conditioning is a training practice developed by Brian Rocha. This work utilizes repeatable physical and dramatic études to enhance presence, stamina, responsiveness, and ensemble awareness. Conceived as both a training space and artistic laboratory, Brian's nomadic studio supports his ongoing research into actor training, embodiment, and collaborative performance.
Archives and Special Collections

At The Ohio State University, I worked in Special Collections and Area Studies as an Education and Curatorial Assistant, supporting archival research, exhibitions, public programming, and collections-based instruction. I taught students how to work with primary sources and archival materials and collaborated with librarians, curators, faculty, and researchers across the university. My teaching has also integrated sustained archival engagement, including the development of Global Performance Traditions and a small instructional collection of primary-source materials and artifacts. Across this work, I approach archives as spaces for preservation, research, teaching, and public engagement.
